Texas Children's Family Fun Run

Families with children of all abilities are invited to participate in the Family Fun Run events in 2018, hosted by Texas Children’s Hospital and the Houston Marathon Foundation.

On Saturday, Feb. 24, hundreds of patients, family members, community advocates, health care providers and more joined Texas Children’s Hospital and Baylor College of Medicine to gather at The Health Museum in Houston, raising awareness for rare diseases in observance of the upcoming Rare Disease Day. The First International Conference on SYNGAP1-related brain disorders

This conference utilized a novel multi-disciplinary approach to bring together patient families, clinicians and researchers as equal stakeholders in order to accelerate research discovery and close the gap to clinical impact. This event was conducted to unite the international clinicians and researchers invested in SYNGAP1 to foster collaborative approaches to identify the molecular underpinnings of the disease and potential new avenues of treatment.
